Volunteering

VOLUNTEERS are an important asset to the Foundation and Malabar Farm State Park. Many of the projects, programs and events would not be possible without the dedication and talents of the many volunteers and their groups. Groups like the Malabar Farm Spinning & Weaving Guild, Central Ohio Draft Horse Association, Richland County Beekeepers, Master Gardeners, Rich History Alliance, Richland County Community Foundation, Destination Mansfield and the Malabar Farm Foundation.

The Foundation board is made up of volunteer professionals, community leaders and interested individuals. Foundation volunteers assist with seminars, administrative duties, workshops, fundraising and foundation sponsored events.

Volunteers-in-Parks program sponsored by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR)  are for those who enjoy the outdoors, want to acquire new skills, interests and would like to contribute their knowledge and talents to Malabar Farm State Park. Park volunteers are encouraged to make the most of their skills and interests with park events by contacting the state park directly. Park Volunteers direct, assist, and staff special events on the farm by assisting with decorating the Big House for Christmas, demonstrations during Maple Syrup Festival, assisting at Ohio Heritage Days, Farm Fun Days, Barn Dances and many more events throughout the year.
